Pause Move Release

This is a LIVE, virtual, gentle yoga class. It is perfect for any practitioner (beginner or experienced) who wants a slow, mindful practice. The focus is on movement with breath, noticing sensations, and slowing down. Movements include joint freeing, strengthening and stretching. We do come up off the floor briefly for slow sun salutations. However, in all of the movements many options are made available to suit each student’s needs.

Schedule

What happens in a Pause, Move, Release yoga class?

  • First we center ourselves, drawing our awareness to our breath, bodies and the present moment. Sometimes we start seated and others we start laying on the floor.

  • We then practice joint freeing movements and stretching for the whole body. We practice slowly to notice the sensations and often pause in between movements.

  • After moving onto our hands and knees to practice some of the joint freeing movements, we then come into downward facing dog and move up to standing.

  • In the next part of class, we practice very slow sun salutations. Students have an option to come up and down off of the floor or to practice next to a chair.

  • We practice a pose or two standing, then move back down to the floor.

  • The cool down and stretching continues lying on the floor.

  • We end the class with Savasana, our pose of rest and release.

Each class is 55-60 minutes long.

Testimonials

"I am so glad I met Heidi. I was looking for a gentle form of yoga that I could actually do. I am in my early 70's and have some physical limitations. I recommend Perfectly Imperfect Yoga to you if you would like to participate in a yoga practice, but are concerned you do not have the strength or flexibility to do so."

"When I first began attending yoga classes with Heidi, I needed both physical and emotional strength building. My previous experience with yoga had been mostly physical, including one class that was so difficult for me it made me nauseous. I’m a recreational derby skater and a nurse so my body and spirit were a bit bruised and in need of a gentle approach. Heidi’s classes are exactly what I was hoping for and after each class I feel both relaxed and energized. Her approach is gentle, encouraging, and inclusive. She’s inspired me to listen to what my body needs, navigate my body’s abilities to achieve the best outcome, and embrace the restorative properties of yoga. "
