Schedule

What happens in a Chair Tai Chi class?

  • First we bow in and center ourselves with breathing into the lower dantian (belly area).

  • The class proceeds to move our bodies from head to toe, first with some warm up movements for our joints.

  • We practice seated modified tai chi movements, such as Swallow flies to the Nest.

  • Students have an option to stand or stay seated for the next portion of practice where we continue to practice Tai Chi movements.

  • We end the class with energy tapping and a meditation.

  • We bow out of the class.

Each class is 60 minutes long.

**Please note, if you are used to a traditional class that flows from one Tai Chi movement to the next and is always the same movements, perfecting them, this is not the same. It is modified, just as a chair yoga class is modified to support the needs of the practitioners with warm ups and joint freeing.
